The Park on Shamien Island

We have learned that Mia loves to be outside and loves to watch dogs...Blakely, you will definitely have a play buddy.  It just makes me wonder how much she has really been able to be outside.  Oh how we need to appreciate the small stuff!  The flowers on Shamien Island and all over Guangzhou for that matter are beautiful!  The island where we are staying is so unique and the buildings very pretty.  There are times that we don't even feel like we are in China.

There was a collie dog that was playing ball with its owner in the park today.  Mia loved to watch them play.  We sat down and watched them for probably 15 minutes!

We are enjoying reading all of your comments so please keep them coming.  I can't respond obviously because I can't even see the blog, but they are being emailed to me!  Have a great day!

  4. We are so happy for you! I keep looking at the gotcha day photos and they always make me cry! To think of how long you waited for that moment but knowing it was all in Gods plan is so neat! all the days ordained for Mia were written in His book before even one of them came to be! Little Mia can't even fathom how her life has changed and all for the better! She now has a family and host of friends to love her but more importantly, she will be able to know Jesus loves her! Praying for you that the bonding would continue to go well and that blakely would thrive at home while you are gone! Congrats!

  5. Hey, Jacob and I miss all of you, and are very excited to meet Mia! Mia is beautiful and looks like she is full of life! Jacob says "hey" to Dawson and Payne and wants them to know that it is cold here and that the ducks and geese are flying in! We check your blog everyday and you are all in our prayers! Look forward to seeing you all soon! Donna

  6. Gretchen, do you remember Kelli Garner (Criswell)? Her sister Kristen Hodge and her husband Mark just left for China a couple of days ago to pick up their daughter!!!! They are staying at the same hotel as you. If you haven't run in to them.... you might want to look for them. They graduated from OBU around 94 I believe! I believe their p/u day is the 5th or 6th. Best wishes to you and your precious family! Safe travels.
